Handyman Jobs
Our flatpack furniture assemblers can also help with the following type of 'handyman / DIY' jobs:

Because we charge £28.00 per 15mins + our £20 call-out fee, we are much cheaper than most dedicated handyman services. After the first hour we bill in 15 minute units, so you only pay for the time we are working.
Because we specialise in installing furniture our fitters carry a specialised tool kit. If you would like us to do some 'handyman' work whilst we are building your furniture or would like to book just this type of work, please let us know in advance, so we can insure we bring everything necessary for your job.
Case study: Installing shelving
The Work Area
Our client wanted to install shelving in the front room of their late Victorian. The alcove above is on a party wall and therefore provided nice firm bricks to fix into.Stepped Shelving
The shelves were pre-cut and not long enough to fill the gap. We recomended using a staggered fill. Not only does this provide a decorative feature in it's own right, but it also provides douible height shelving at each end. Ideal for lamps, large books and ornaments.
The shelves are supported with a cantilever brackets (in this case Ikea's Bjarnum brackets) which means that all the weight of the shelf and it's contents are supported by the wall fixings. We wouldn't recomend this type of shelving for plasterboard (hollow) walls.
The Other Alcove
The alcoves either side were only 90cm wide. We cut the shelves to size and mounted them witht he same shelf-to-shelf distances used in the step-shelves. Our constent attention to detail ensures that everything is level
The whole installation of 12 shelves took 4 hours and cost £132.00.
